Stellar structure, large-scale structure, and how much can be inferred from remarkably little light.
Computer Engineer
Computer engineer, currently in an administrative post at the Embassy of Nepal in London. I build software, and I bring the same habits of mind to the systems that move people and paperwork across borders.
I am a computer engineer, trained at the Institute of Engineering under Tribhuvan University. My degree work ran the whole width of the discipline — soldered hardware at one end, deep learning at the other. The final project was a speech-synthesis system that could speak Nepali in a cloned voice from a short audio sample.
I now hold an administrative post at the Embassy of Nepal in London. People read that as a change of direction. I read it as the same work in an unfamiliar language: a diplomatic mission is a system, with queues and state transitions and validation rules and failure modes — and the failure modes matter enormously, because the person on the other side of the counter is a long way from home.
The engineering habit turns out to be the useful part. I notice where a process is doing by hand what it could be doing once, and I have written the tooling to close that gap before — a bulk lookup against the Inland Revenue database, built because checking records one at a time was the bottleneck. Four languages help more than any framework I know.
Underneath all of it is the science. Astrophysics, fractals, chaos — systems where very simple rules produce behaviour nobody could have predicted from the rules. It is not a coincidence that institutions work the same way. That reading changes how I approach both: look for the invariant, the conserved quantity, the smallest model that still predicts the result.

Stellar structure, large-scale structure, and how much can be inferred from remarkably little light.
Sensitive dependence, strange attractors, and self-similarity — simple rules whose consequences nobody could guess from the rules.
Linear algebra, discrete structures, and the uncomfortable beauty of proofs that offer no intuition.
Theory of computation, numerical methods, and simulation as a way of thinking rather than a tool.
Bachelor’s major project: a speech-synthesis pipeline that speaks arbitrary Nepali text in a target voice from a short reference sample. Built as a speaker encoder feeding a Tacotron 2 synthesiser and a neural vocoder — the hard part was Nepali, which has almost none of the corpus support English TTS takes for granted.
Bachelor’s minor project. A convolutional classifier that separates genuine photographs from computer-manipulated ones, trained with supervised learning on a labelled corpus of real and synthesised faces.
A production bilingual site (English and Nepali) for Nepsemyak Sewa Pvt. Ltd., with an admin panel behind authentication. Statically pre-rendered where the content is stable and rendered on demand where it is not, with Postgres behind the dynamic routes.
A tool for querying many PAN numbers against Nepal’s Inland Revenue Department records in one pass, instead of one lookup at a time through the web form. Written for a real administrative bottleneck.
Real-time detection of eyeglasses in a video stream using YOLO v3 — an exercise in getting a single-stage detector to hold up on a small, self-labelled dataset.
A run of Arduino-era builds from the engineering years: an audio VU meter wired from discrete components, a solar panel that tracks the sun across the day on servos, and a robocar that maps its way around obstacles by ultrasound.

Embassy of Nepal, London
Consular and administrative work at Nepal’s mission in the United Kingdom. A different vantage point from the engineering track, and a useful one — the constraints are real, the records are old, and the distance between how a process is written down and how it actually runs is where the interesting problems sit.
